Douglas Wood

Hollister - Douglas "Doug" Lynn Wood, age 66, passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2021. Born in Cumberland, VA on August 3, 1955, he was the son of the late Robert James Wood and Mary Sloan Wood. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Curtis Wood. Doug enjoyed doing demolition work. He also liked to do things differently than everyone else. Doug enjoyed helping others and taking part of his Facebook groups. He served in the Army where he went overseas and helped rescue POWs from Vietnam. He enjoyed every single day and never met a stranger. Doug will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Doug is survived by his significate other, Mary Kyger, of the home; his daughter, Tina Reed, of Hollister; his son, Douglas Wood, of Pennsylvania; his step-daughter, Michelle (Dennis), of New York; his grandchildren, Eva Wood and Liam St. Kyger; and his sisters, Wilma Krugg, of New York, and Della Gunthrey, of Virginia.
