Bonnie Johnson

PINETOPS– Bonnie Johnson, age 75, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Born in Southhampton County, VA on July 4, 1950, she was the daughter of the late William David Marlow and Doris Mills Marlow. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Roy Allen Marlow, Johnnie Marlow, Billy Marlow, Robert Douglas Marlow, and Calvin Michael Marlow.

Bonnie will be remembered for her kind heart, love of nature, and appreciation for life’s simple joys. She found peace while fishing and loved watching hummingbirds and butterflies from her garden, which bloomed with her favorite flowers, including roses, carnations, and her cherished butterfly bush.

She enjoyed playing Bingo, celebrating her favorite holiday—the Fourth of July, which was also her birthday—and spending time with her beloved dog, Lucy.

Bonnie’s warmth, gentle spirit, and love for family, friends, and the beauty around her will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, Tommy “Buck” Johnson; brothers, Richard Marlow (Denise), Jerry Marlow, Jimmy Marlow (Ann); sisters-in-law, Carolyn Jordan and Glenda Marlow; brother-in-law, Allan Johnson; several nieces and nephews; and dear friends who became family, James Ray Lancaster, Jean Fox, and Louise Bossman.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Rocky Mount, NC  27804 with Rev. Tony Bossolono officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. A visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 1:45PM prior to the service in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
