Brenda Crocker (niece)
BATTLEBORO – Kim Ackerman, age 80, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025. Born in Soul, Korea, on February 8, 1945, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Charles Ackerman.
Kim’s green thumb was legendary; her garden was full of color and fragrance, a testament to her nurturing spirit and patient hand. She found immense joy in tending to her flowers, sharing their beauty with all who visited.
Kim’s kitchen was the heart of her home, a place where warmth and deliciousness intertwined. She was particularly renowned for her exceptional kimchee, a spicy and flavorful staple that was always in high demand, and her perfectly crispy eggrolls, a treat everyone eagerly anticipated. These culinary creations were more than just food; they were expressions of her love and generosity.
Her affection also extended to her beloved canine companions. Dogs held a special place in Kim’s heart, offering her unwavering loyalty and companionship throughout her life. She cherished their presence and the unconditional love they so freely gave.
In her quieter moments, Kim found joy in the familiar comfort of her television. She was a devoted viewer of “The Price is Right,” always ready to guess the retail value and cheer on the contestants. The dramatic flair of “Jerry Springer” provided a different kind of entertainment, and she also held a soft spot for the educational and whimsical world of PBS cartoons, a reminder of the simple joys of childhood.
Kim’s kind heart, generous spirit, and the tangible beauty she created in her garden and kitchen will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, flavorful memories, and the enduring image of a woman who found joy in the everyday wonders of life.
Kim is survived by her niece, Brenda Crocker; nephew, Keith Smith; great nieces, Kathleen Smith, Ashley Crocker, Taylor Crocker, and special friend, William Viverette.
