Born in: Bastrop, Texas
Resided in: Rocky Mount, North Carolina

ROCKY MOUNT – Daniel Saucedo, age 80, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025. Born in Bastrop County, Texas on July 12, 1945, he was the son of the late Willie F. Saucedo, Sr. and Nellie D. Saucedo. He was also preceded in death by his first wife of 32 years Mary Lupe Saucedo; granddaughter, Jacquelyn Walker; brothers, Fred Saucedo, Sid Saucedo, Michael Saucedo, Bobby Saucedo; sisters, Dorothy Martinez, and Betty Saucedo.

Daniel lived a life defined by hard work, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to the people he loved. Born and raised in Bastrop, Texas during the height of the area’s rich agricultural era, he grew up on his family’s farm alongside his parents and ten siblings. During those early years – of long days on the farm he learned the value of perseverance, teamwork, and humility that helped shape him into the man he would become. He came from “can-do” people, and he carried that spirit with him every day of his life, instilling those same values into his family.

Throughout his lifetime, Daniel built a successful career marked not just by achievements, but by deep passion. No matter the job, he approached each role with enthusiasm, dedication, and an unmatched work ethic. To him, work was never simply about the task at hand—it was about the lessons learned, the people served, and the pride of doing things the right way. He worked tirelessly, never complained, and earned the respect of everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Beyond his professional life, Daniel devoted himself to coaching and youth leadership. Mentoring young people brought him tremendous fulfillment. He believed in guiding others, teaching them to believe in themselves, and showing them the value of character, hard work, and integrity. His influence reached far beyond the field or classroom, shaping countless lives in meaningful ways.

Family was Daniel’s greatest priority and deepest joy. He worked hard every day not for recognition or reward, but to provide for his family and give them the foundation they deserved. His wife, children, grandchildren, and extended family were the heart of his world. Nothing brought him more happiness than time spent with them—laughing, sharing stories, and watching the next generations grow.

Daniel’s legacy is one of love, service, and steadfast commitment. He leaves behind a family strengthened by his example, a community better for his contributions, and memories that will be cherished always. His life was a testament to what it means to work hard, love deeply, and live with purpose.

His love, laughter, and adventurous spirit touched everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed.

Daniel is survived by his wife of 27 years, Francienne Walker Saucedo; sons, Daniel Saucedo (Colleen) and Victor Saucedo (Janet); daughters, Sheila Kirkpatrick, April Saucedo (Eric Richason), and Sarah Saucedo (Sean Min); grandchildren, William Walker, Arianna Maddrey, Rachael Kirkpatrick, Erik Saucedo, Jessica Jimenez, Nicolas Saucedo, Taylor Saucedo, Sophia Saucedo, Benjamin Min; ten great-grandchildren; brothers, Willie Saucedo (Gloria), David Saucedo (Ann); sisters, Mary Nieto, and Annie Bean (Johnny); and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

  1. When I saw the picture I said to myself that looks like Daniel.
Tears came to see that beautiful face again. So many trips we took on the bus to/from school. Always the smile always the one to give everyone else a smile, it was infectious. The Saucedos are known for that smile, to this day our kids have it and it shines.
