ROCKY MOUNT – Virginia Bradley, age 102, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.Born in Nash County, NC on September 24, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Eligh Williams and Zoma Rose Williams. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Russell Fleming Bradley, and 9 brothers and sisters.

Virginia was a beloved woman whose life was marked by faith, kindness, and a joyful devotion to others. A longtime and faithful member of Crossroads Baptist Church, Virginia lived her life guided by love, service, and an unwavering commitment to her community.

She was a proud member of The Red Hots, a spirited group of retired ladies who shared laughter, friendship, and a passion for visiting nursing homes. Together, they brought joy wherever they went, and Virginia’s warm smile and engaging personality made everyone she met feel special. A true people person, she lived an exciting and full life, always eager to connect, encourage, and uplift others.

Virginia had a remarkable green thumb—if she touched a plant, it seemed destined to grow. Gardening brought her peace and happiness, and her flowers were as vibrant as her spirit. She was also an accomplished seamstress, lovingly sewing clothes and costumes for children, each piece made with care and creativity.

Her kitchen was the heart of her home. Virginia loved cooking and baking, and she was especially well known for her cakes, which were as beautiful as they were delicious. Family, friends, and neighbors will forever remember the warmth and comfort found around her table.

Above all, Virginia was a devoted caretaker who found purpose in looking after others. Whether through a kind word, a helping hand, or a selfless act of service, she gave freely of herself and expected nothing in return.

Virginia leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and faith. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her gentle spirit and the many lives she touched will continue to bloom, much like the gardens she so lovingly tended.

Virginia is survived by her daughters, Inez Croom, Delores Jones, and Tally Edwards; son, Gary V. Bradley (Judy); grandchildren, Melody Jones, Tracy Crisp (Tim), Keisha Robinson (Brian), Lillian Moorehouse (Jeff), Audrey Snyder (Steve); ten great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at 3:30 PM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park, 4454 Dortches Blvd. Rocky Mount, NC 27804 with Tammy Carter officiating.  A visitation will be from 1:45 PM to 2:45 PM prior to the service in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
