Barnett "Bill" Rogers

HAVELOCK, NC – Bill Rogers, 84, passed away on November 15, 2025. He was born on March 10, 1941, at his family’s country home near the small community of Kingston in Madison County, Kentucky.

Bill proudly served his country, enlisting in the United States Navy as a Seaman Recruit on March 26, 1958. Over the course of nearly 19 years of dedicated service, he rose to the rank of Hospital Corpsman Chief, retiring honorably on January 7, 1977. His lifelong dedication to caring for others defined both his military service and his life.

Bill was the son of Charles Franklin Rogers and Rachel Wilson Rogers. He was preceded in death by his siblings James Drexal Rogers, Annabelle Rogers Richardson, Franklin R. Rogers, and his stepson Dixon Walters.

He is survived by his loving wife, Anne Rogers; his sister Ruth Rogers Hawkins (Duain); his children Barnett William Rogers (Gena) and Lori Rogers Rickard (David); and his grandchildren Robert and Brandon Rogers.

Bill is also survived by his stepchildren Robert Keith Walters (Silviya) and Jennifer Walters Batts (Gary). Keith’s children, Sabrina Salcedo and Natasha Walters, as well as Dixon’s children, Jessie Brittany Bush and Hunter Walters, were all cherished members of Bill’s extended family.

Bill will be remembered for his devotion to family, his honorable service, and the kindness and steady presence he brought to all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at West Village Christian Church, 637 Robertsville Road, Oak Ridge, TN 37830.
