ENFIELD – Carolyn B. Vick, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. Born in Edgecombe County, NC on June 2, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Cleveland Baker and Sarah Nora Bone Baker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Burton Vick, Jr., and her brother, William “Bill” Cleveland Baker.

Carolyn was a devoted woman of faith, family, and service whose life was a blessing to all who knew her. She was a longtime and faithful member of Antioch Baptist Church in Enfield, where her love for the Lord was evident through her many years of involvement and service.

Carolyn joyfully served the church in numerous ways. She taught the Smiles Class, shared her voice as a choir member, was active in the missions ministry, served on several church committees, and lovingly taught children’s church. Her heart for ministry and dedication to helping others reflected her deep faith and gentle spirit.

Outside of church, Carolyn had a creative soul. She loved arts and crafts and found joy in creating things by hand. She also had a special place in her heart for her cats and was a devoted and loving feline mama. Carolyn enjoyed attending Happiness Retreats at Camp Caraway, which were meaningful times for her.

Above all else, Carolyn dearly loved her family. She enjoyed spending time in the kitchen, cooking for those she loved, and was always eager to experiment and try new recipes. Sharing meals and making memories around the table was one of her greatest joys.

Carolyn will be remembered for her kind heart, faithful service, creative spirit, and unwavering love for her family, church, and community. She leaves behind a legacy of faith and love that will continue to live on in all whose lives she touched.

Carolyn is survived by her sons, Ernest “Ernie” B. Vick, III., and Cleveland “Dean” Vick; sisters, Nancy B. Morris, Rachel B. Braswell (Philip); host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and her fur babies, Marbles, Synnaman, Petunia, Grayson, Chris, and Sunshine.
