Cecil Gary Poole

SHARPSBURG - Cecil Gary Poole, age 70, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2022. Born in Greenback, TN on December 15, 1951, he was the son of the late Kenneth Carroll Poole and Mary Ruth Rogers Poole. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Portia Watts Poole; his son, Chris Poole; his brother, Sammy Poole and his nephew, Marty Poole. Gary loved relaxing and being out on his boat fishing. He enjoyed showing off all of his great finds from the rock quarry including a whale's vertebrae, shark's teeth, gems and fools' gold. Gary also enjoyed collecting guns. He enjoyed cooking for his family and was known as a grill master when it came to cooking ribs. He loved spending time with friends playing dice, especially Farkle. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him, but his loving spirit will never be forgotten as he was everything to his family. Gary is survived by his daughter, Amanda Poole (Lee Murray), of Spring Hope; his step-daughters, Donna Poland, of Nashville, and Christy Baker, of Wilson; his grandchildren, Kelly Poole, Christopher Poole, Chase Poole, Ryan Jones, Mason Poole, Jayden Murray, Katie Poole, and Alexis Jones; his five great-grandchildren; his sister, Judy Wood (Jim), of Middlesex; his brother, Marvin Poole (Patricia), of South Carolina; his six nieces and nephews; his best friend, Tim Pete; and his dog, Remy. A Memorial Service to celebrate Gary's life will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 4:00 PM in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
