RAYMORE, MO – Kimberly Adams Morris, age 60, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025. Born in Nash County, NC on December 10, 1964, she was the daughter of the late James Arthur Adams.
Kim’s life was a living example of kindness, selflessness, and joy. She had a natural gift for making others feel valued and cared for—always placing the needs of others before her own. Her loyalty was unwavering, and those who called her a friend knew they had a champion in their corner for life.
She loved the simple but beautiful pleasures of life—losing herself in a good book, feeling the warm sand beneath her feet at the beach, and cherishing every precious moment spent with her beloved grandchildren. Her love extended to all the children in the family, each one holding a special place in her heart.
Kim’s smile was her signature—so radiant and genuine that you could see it in her eyes before it ever reached her lips. It was a smile that welcomed, comforted, and celebrated everyone around her.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and laughter that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Though she is no longer with us in body, the warmth of her spirit and the light of her soul will forever shine.
Kim is survived by her husband of 43 years, Charles David Morris; her sons, James Joshua Morris, and Charles Benjamin Morris; her daughter, Amber Morris Matthews, and husband, Travis; her grandchildren, Abigail Morris, Aiden Morris, Lillian Matthews, Macklin Matthews, and Adalynn Matthews; her mother, Gail Wiggins Adams; her sisters, Sheryl Phillips, and husband, Jesse, and Janice Oakley, and husband, Jimmy; her brother, Jeffrey Brian Adams, and partner, Patricia Carroll; and a multitude of nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A Funeral Service to celebrate Kim’s life will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 11:30 AM in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. John Scott officiating. Charities
The family greatly appreciates donations made to these charities in Kimberly Adams Morris 's name.
It is ironic that after beating cancer Kim was taken from us the way that it happened. She was a fighter and determined to be with her family longer, but it was not to be.
The first time I spoke with Kim was on May 6, 2022, a day that marked the quiet beginning of a treasured friendship. Three weeks later, we met face to face, and from that moment onward, Kim became an irreplaceable friend. If I carry any regret, it is only that our paths did not cross sooner, and that I was granted too little time to truly know the depth of her spirit.
Kim´s love for all of her family, i.e. husband, children, grandchildren, sisters, brother, parents, aunts, nieces, and nephews, was profound and unwavering, and that love was returned in equal measure. Her absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, and she will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. Yet even as sorrow lingers in the wake of her passing, I hope the tapestry of joyful memories she created for us all will serve as a lasting source of comfort and gratitude. To have known Kim, even for too short a while, is a gift I will always cherish. I will also cherish the friendship of her family.
Her kindness endures in every heart she touched, echoing through moments both ordinary and profound. Though she is gone, the love she gave remains-a luminous thread woven into the fabric of our lives.
