Kimberly Thurmond Adkins

ROCKY MOUNT – Kimberly Thurmond Adkins, age 58, of Rocky Mount NC, formally from Charleston WV, went home to be with the Lord on May 23, 2025, after a long illness. Kim is proceeded in death by her mother, Donna Protan Caldwell; father, Lawrence Lee Thurmond I and brother, Lawrence Lee Thormond II.

Kim is survived by her daughter, Samantha Searcy of Rocky Mount, NC. Samantha was her mother’s shining light. Brother, Hal Thurmond of Charleston, WV; sister and best friend, Melissa Mobley (Edward Mobley), and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank her friend Vicky Lassiter for all that she has done for Kim. She took care of Kim and went to see her almost every day in the hospital. Vicky has gone above and beyond. Thank you, Vicky, and words of gratitude will never be enough for the love and support you have shown.

There will be no service as per Kim’s request. The family request donations to be made in Kim’s name to American Stroke Association or Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Service at 661 English Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
