Reina Magaly Bantes Castro

SPRING HOPE – Reina Magaly Bantes Castro, age 47, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. Born in Guatemala on December 3, 1977, she was the daughter of the late Eduardo Enrique Bantes.

Reina proudly served for 3 years in the Guatemalan Military as a soldier and trained in parachuting. After the military, Reina discovered her passion for transforming spaces. This passion blossomed into a remarkable career as an event decorator, where she poured her boundless energy and creative spirit into every project. Reina didn’t just decorate events; she brought dreams to life. From elegant weddings to vibrant parties, her touch was magical, always exceeding expectations and leaving a trail of awestruck clients and happy memories. She truly loved her job, and it showed in the meticulous care and infectious enthusiasm she brought to each occasion.

Reina’s energy was legendary. She was a whirlwind of activity, always buzzing with new ideas and a can-do attitude that inspired everyone around her. This vitality extended beyond her professional life and into her role as a devoted mother. Her greatest pride and joy were her children. She loved them fiercely and unconditionally, and her vibrant spirit will undoubtedly live on through them.

Reina also had a particular fondness for flowers, with orchids and lilies holding a special place in her heart. Their elegance and fragrance often found their way into her stunning arrangements, a signature of her exquisite taste.

Reina will be remembered for her radiant smile, her infectious laughter, her unwavering optimism, and the sheer artistry she brought to the world. Reina had a unique ability to make every person feel special and every event a masterpiece.

Reina is survived by her sons, Carlos Eduardo Olivera Bantes, Enrique Sebastian Bantes Castro; daughter, Angie Giselle Bantes Castro; mother, Rosaura Castro Beltran, and several brothers and sisters.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 661 English Road Rocky Mount, NC 27804. A visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:45 PM prior to the service in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
