Stanley W. Bryant

ROCKY MOUNT – Stanley Bryant, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. Born in Nash County, NC on January 29, 1952, he was the son of the late Eldrige Earl Bryant and Betty Jean Hogshire Bryant. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Gwen Bryant; his sisters, Barbara Joyner, and
Irene Vester; his brother, Larry Walton; and his beloved K-9 companion, Ziggy.

Stanley was a man that had a deep love for his family. An avid fisherman, he found peace and happiness by the water, casting a line and soaking in the quiet moments that fishing brings.

He was a lifelong fan of NASCAR—never missing a race when his favorite driver, Jeff Gordon, took to the track. Stanley also loved sports of all kinds, whether cheering for his beloved Tar Heels during basketball season, rooting for the Panthers or Redskins on football Sundays, or following the Atlanta Braves through baseball season. Stanley also enjoyed playing tennis and golf when he was younger.
Stanley enjoyed being outdoors and grilling with family and friends.

A hard worker all his life, Stanley approached everything he did with dedication and heart.
Stanley will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Stanley is survived by his daughter, Angela Bryant Edwards, and her husband, Kinchen, of Rocky Mount; his sons, Fred Killingsworth, and wife, Andrea, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Christopher Bryant, and wife Christie, of Rocky Mount; his grandchildren, Emma Killingsworth, John Killingsworth, Eli Killingsworth, Gabe Killingsworth, Hadlee Bryant, and Zoey Bryant; his sisters, Dianne Dawes, Joanne Christian, Darlene Paul, and husband, Eddie, and Tammy Smith, and husband, Lewis; his brothers, Marvin Walton, and wife, Mary, and Bobby Bryant, and wife, Lynn; and many loving nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 661 English Road Rocky Mount, NC 27804. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. A visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 6:30 PM, in the Parlor of Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
