Alice "Judy" Scott Rowe

Alice “Judy” Scott Rowe, age 91, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018. Born in Nash County, NC on July 24, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Harry Blunt and Minnie Bell Williams Scott. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Tillman Rowe. Judy leaves behind to cherish her memory, sons, John T. Rowe Jr. and wife Debra of Raleigh, NC, Michael B. Rowe of Hendersonville, NC, David L. Rowe and wife Amanda of Brevard, NC, and daughter, Beth R. Hassell and husband, Stuart, of Newport, NC. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Judy attended James Madison University in VA prior to marriage. However, she set aside her dreams and returned home to take care of her ill mother. Judy was a homemaker. After her children started school she worked as a Secretary at Longview Gardens Elementary School in Raleigh. Later she became an insurance Claims Adjuster in various locations. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother, and she took great delight in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Throughout her life she was an excellent cook. She loved growing flowers and gardening. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home Cremation Services. Burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service.
