Beverly Hurley Gryczan

December 17, 1937 ~ January 11, 2024

WILSON – Beverly Hurley Gryczan, age 86, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024. Born in Columbus, Indiana, on December 17, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Silas Marshall Hurley and Doris Lambert Hurley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Fredrick Gryczan, Sr; daughter Candice Gilman. Beverly was a fan of Nascar racing and she loved Dale Earnhardt Sr, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. She was also a race car driver and was part of the Powder Puff Dirt Track League. Beverly enjoyed going to see the Christmas lights, singing Hymns as well as white water rafting, watching gameshow network and Bob Ross or reading a book by her favorite author Joey James. She volunteered at many different places. Beverly was a kind and generous person. She was the glue that held the family together. She was a “super Granny”. Above all, her most cherished memories will be those spent with her family. Beverly touched the lives of so many people and will always be remembered with love and kindness. Beverly is survived by her children; Cathy Hall, Laurie Brown (Jeff), Rich Gilman, Jeff Gilman, Walt Gryczan, Jr. (Jolliann), Linda Long (Lee); grandchildren, Amber, Justin, Richard, Joseph, David, Kathryn, Lizzy, Breanna, Bradley, Brittany, Christina, Mike; great grandchildren, Micah, Milani, Evelyn, Arielle, Jordan, Jason, Kayla, Kirsten, Ian, Tyler, Zackary, Emma, Ashton, Caiden, Evan, Grayson, Iverson, Andrew, Austin, Sidney; sisters, Kay Bunch (Jesse), Barbara Crawford; brother, Dick Hurley and several great great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Elm City Baptist Church, 206 West Wilson Street Elm City, NC, with Pastor Gene Wells officiating.   1. Love and prayers to all Bev’s family and friends! I remember going to see her at awake Med with flowers and she said what are you doing in Raleigh, I told her I can come to see her. She was such a kind, humble soul. Loved her so much. Bev always worked so hard to provide for her family. She was a hard working, giving lady. RIP sweet Bev! Dean & Bet Strickland
