Carl Eugene Heavner

Nashville - Carl Eugene Heavner, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Born in Cleveland County, NC on April 20, 1935, he was the son of the late David Philip and Sarah Willard Heavner. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nolie Heavner; stepdaughter, Kay Medlin, two sisters, Shirley Carroll, and Ruby Heavner; and one brother, David Philip Heavner Jr. Carl leaves behind to cherish his memory, son, Philip Eugene Heavner and wife, Amy, of Nashivlle, NC and stepsons, Alex Medlin and Wayne Medlin. He is also survived by step-grandchildren, Mikey Parker and Timmy Medlin, brothers, Claude and Freddie of Cherryville, NC Pete of Shelby, NC and Tommy of Vale, NC; and sister, Daisy Kern of Cherryville, NC. Carl worked for Carolina Freight for 33 years. He loved fishing at the coast, watching Nascar racing, driving his John Deere tractor, gardening and keeping up with the stock market. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home.
