RALEIGH – Doris Fuller Reed, age 104, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. Born in Susquehanna County, PA on September 28, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Carl Brungess Fuller and Lena Mae Bailey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Frank Reed; her son, Howard Frank Reed, Jr.; four sisters, and two brothers.
Doris was a longtime and very active member of Benvenue Baptist Church. She enjoyed the sewing group and card ministry as well as singing in the church choir. After relocating to Raleigh, NC in 2008 with her daughter, she joined Highland Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member. Doris was an avid reader and loved sewing. Above all she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all of those who knew and loved her, but her loving spirit will never be forgotten as she was everything to her family.Doris is survived by her daughter, Diana Reed, of Raleigh, NC; her daughter-in-law, Kay Reed, of Ardmore, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and many great-great grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, April 8, 2024, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel on the Hill Mausoleum at Rocky Mount Memorial Park, 4454 Dortches Blvd. Rocky Mount, NC, with Pastor Frank White, and Pastor Richard Collins officiating.
