ROCKY MOUNT – Elijah Amos Williams, Jr., age 80, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023. Born in Edgecombe County, NC on April 1, 1943, he was the son of the late Elijah Amos Williams and Annie Mae Kennedy Williams. He was also preceded in death by his daughters, Debbie Wood, Wanda Hall, Joyce Marie Williams, Cindy Williams, and brothers Harvey Lee Williams, and Johnny Williams.
Junior loved fishing and he had many stories to tell. His most cherished memories will be those spent with his family. Above all, Junior loved spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids. Junior will be deeply missed. He made a difference in the life of everyone who knew him, and he leaves behind a tremendous legacy of life, love, and laughter.
Junior is survived by his wife of 9 years, Brenda Williams; his daughter Cathy Howard, and husband Evan, of Rocky Mount; his sons, James Sharpe, of Rocky Mount, John Lucas, of Rocky Mount, Perry Lucas, of Raleigh, and William Amos Lucas and wife Cynthia of Nashville; his grandchildren, Heather Lynch; Joshua Sharpe, and Jeremy Sharpe and great grandchildren Dallas Lynch, and Alaina Lynch, Sisters Peggy Leonard and husband Jerry of Nashville, Edna Page and husband Sherwood of Grifton; brothers Bobby Williams and wife Jenny of Goldsboro; Thomas Williams of Rocky Mount; William Alton Williams and wife Pam of Rocky Mount; Bennett Williams of Sharpsburg, multitude nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dear Uncle Junior Williams while I’m typing this I know your get this in spirit , I just wanted to say there ain’t never been a cooler Uncle like you !! You really looked out for us kids when we were little or any kids you loved family! I just wanna thank you for all the wonderful times & memories , the laughter moments as well , oh and seem like I told u this here when we would come by to help u get groceries , til this day I wanna thank u for back in the 1980’s growing up then ……. before we ever got Cable or Satellite thx for recording all my favorite rock & Roll videos back then …….. also letting us all watch MTV or Play Games etc …. you were super good to us all !! And I Love ya , we all love ya Brother & Also I feel very grateful I got a Big Hug from you Junior! Anywayz please give our love to our other love ones above in the spirit in the sky

There aren’t enough words to describe what you meant to me and the family. You have been grandaddy all my life. You loved me,taught me,helped raise me and we always had our frozen at night when I was younger. I know Grandma and All Your Daughters ushered you in with open arms and smiles so big. You’re no longer in pain and we have memories to always keep your spirit alive. This isn’t Goodbye just,I’ll see you At Home.

Uncle Jr. I know we haven’t talked much since mama’s passing and I hate that. You where like my 2nd father with all the love and support ya’ll showed me from the time b4 I could remember. Our fishing trips when I was a kid to Swan Quarters and to the wildlife pear. You where one of my heroes. You always saw me as a son. I love you so much and will miss you everyday.
