Emma Florine Harper

Rocky Mount - Florine Harper, age 92, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Spring Arbor. Born in Franklin County, NC on April 24, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Nellie Creekmore. She was also preceded in death by her husband, W.J. Harper; sister, Daynelle Headen; and brother, Robert Creekmore. Florine Harper was a faithful wife and mother. She worked on farms in Franklin and Nash County for much of her life. She also worked as a seamstress at a sewing plant for many years before her retirement. She was a Christian and a faithful member of Old Carriage Road Baptist Church where her son serves as pastor and read the Bible through several times during her lifetime. Florine leaves behind to cherish her memory, sons, Jay Harper and wife Dorothy of Wilson; Rev. William Harper and wife Amelia of Nashville and daughter, Emma Jean Cooper and husband Gary of Fernandian Beach, FL. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Dottie Andersen and Evelyn Bryan; brothers, Grafton Creekmore, Stacey Creekmore and Everett Creekmore. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at Johnson Funeral Home Cremation Services. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 12:00 noon at Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.   1. Pastor Harper and Family, so sorry for your loss. Mrs. Harper was a sweet and kind lady, she would always have a smile on her face for everyone. Im so thankful I had the pleasure of knowing her. She will be missed by all who loved her. Heaven has gained a beautiful angel. Prayers and love to the family.
