Rocky Mount - Harley Augusta Walls, age 90, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2017. Born in Catawba County, NC on April 27, 1927, he was the son of the late Eugene and Julie Williams Walls. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Lois Hoffman and daughter-in-law, Rebecca Hayes Walls.
Harley leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife, Martha Pauline Walls, daughter, Sylvia Tippett (Tommy) and son, Paul Walls (Beth). He is also survived by grandchildren, Justin Walls (Mandy), Ashley Walls Naylor (Jon) and Scott Powell (Linda); great-grandchildren, Jayden and Brailynn Walls and Brandon and Taylor Powell; and sister, Betty Walls Gregory.
Harley was a devoted husband, father and grandpa. Harley was a retired employee of Carolina Freight and was a member of Meals on wheels.
Harley was a very active member of Church of the Nazarene. He loved his church dearly and served as a Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent and a board member.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. A Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Rocky Mount Church of the Nazarene. Entombment will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Thanks Harley for being my 2nd Dad. Thanks for all the times you spent with me as if I was your own. If was great times I will cherish from riding bikes around neighborhood or going places getting to stand beside you in truck seat until I would slide down asleep. I love you and will miss you!!! We have great memories of Harley and Pauline. Remember the times we would go to all the gospel music concerts . They loved it and so did we. Harley was a great Christian Man . We will sure miss him . God Bless all the family. We love you all Betty and Dorsey
I am so very sorry to learn about the death of your loved one Harley. I know that this is a difficult time for you but please know how much others care and share your pain. The bible assures us that our loved ones are only sleeping!! How good to know that one day they will come back to life by means of the resurrection. JOhn528-29 Do not let your heart be troubled.
