Rocky Mount - Jean Williams Hiatt, age 85, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2017 at her home. Born in Nash County, NC on March 20, 1932, she was the daughter of the late John Luther and Nannie Mae Williams. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Kay Williams and the father of her children Jim Hiatt. Jean leaves behind to cherish her memory, children, Jamie LeMin, Joni Avent and Jimmy Hiatt. She is also survived by grandchildren, Norman Keen, Casey Keen, Steven Turner, Stephanie Avent, Haley, Destiny and James Hiatt; great-grandchildren, Jenn, Hannah, Timothy, Bryanna, Jonathan and Bentley; and brother, Carroll Williams. A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. A funeral Service will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at 4:00 PM in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.   1. Jean was indeed the bright spot of Coastal Plain Hospital. She was always pleasant, fun to talk with, but she could handle that front desk without problems! Somehow, Jean managed to take care of whatever came up with professionalism and grace. She was also wonderful as Mrs. Santa all those years that we had Christmas parties. I will miss her, I will remember her fondly, and I am so glad that I knew her. She is with God now, she is whole again, and may you, her family, feel His peace and love.
