John King Jr.

NASHVILLE - John King, Jr., age 80, passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021. Born in Nash County, NC on June 13, 1941, he was the son of the late John King Sr. and Edna Harper King. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Nell Wall, Carolyn Smith, and Betsy Sanderson. John retired with 30 years of dedicated service with Clayton Homes formerly Brigadier Homes. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting and working in his garden. John also loved cooking for his family and friends. John is survived by his brother, Danny Ray King and wife, Betty, of Castalia; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. A Memorial service will be held at 7 PM Tuesday September 7, 2021 in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 6:45 PM at Johnson Funeral Home prior to the service. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the family is requesting the need for social distancing and wearing of masks due to health concerns faced around our nation at this time.
