HENDERSONVILLE - Margaret Louise Walker, age 92, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021 at home with family. Born in Nash County, NC on January 5, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Johnnie Perry Armstrong and Blanche Wells Armstrong. She was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Caroline Faye Walker; and her brother, Walter Perry Armstrong.
Margaret is survived by her daughters, Nancy McKinnis and husband, David, of Wilmington, and Deborah Morrow, of Hendersonville; her sons, Wesley Walker and wife, Susie, of Hendersonville, and Terry Walker and wife, Nancy, of Manchester, TN; her grandchildren, Jason Morrow, Kelly Hickman, Joey Walker, and Benjamin Walker; and her great-grandchildren, Gracie, Brady, Nolan, Landon, Gavin, Justin, Elijah, and Ezra.
Margaret was a hard worker, always staying busy supporting herself and taking care of her family. Making sure everyone had what they needed. She grew up as an only child and always wanted a large family to love. Margaret loved working outside in the yard, planting flowers, trimming shrubs, even cutting grass. Slowing down in retirement was hard for her to accept. She was happiest when active. Her mother taught her how to crochet as a young woman. She made many wonderful afghans, one for each child, grandchild, great-grandchild, and the occasional baby gift for friends. Each was perfect and made with great care. Margaret loved Christmas, giving presents, seeing the joy each gift brought and making sure everyone felt loved. Lots of thought was put into each present. A gift card would never do! Margaret was loved by her family and friends and will be sorely missed.
