Mark Mitchell Rice

ELM CITY - Mark Mitchell Rice, age 73, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2022. Born in Iredell County, NC on August 29, 1948, he was the son of the late Max Eugene Rice and Beverly Ann Pugh Rice. He was also proceeded in death by his son, Chad Mitchell Rice. Mark was a proud Army Vietnam veteran in the 199th Light Infantry Brigade. He was an amazing artist and the funniest person you would ever meet. Mark loved to entertain and make people laugh. He enjoyed music and movies. He loved vodka and a cold beer. Mark was a gentle giant, that would do anything to help someone. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him, but his loving spirit will never be forgotten as he was everything to his family. Mark is survived by his daughter, Amy Rice Clark and husband, Fred, of Louisburg; his grandchildren, George Mitchell Clark, Max Mitchell Rice, and Evan Parker Rice; his sister, Christine Bronson and husband, Jim, of CA; and his brother, Steve Rice and wife, Ann, of Clayton.
