Rocky Mount - Marvin Gilbert Snook, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Nash General Hospital. Born in Garrett, Indiana on December 28, 1941, he was the son of the late Gilbert “Bud” Snook and LoVila “Vi” Snook.
Marvin leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife, Maria Snook; son, Erik Snook; brother, Robert “Bob” Snook; aunt, Irma Rockwell; and several cousins. He will also be missed by his dog Scrapper and his cats.
Marvin graduated from Ball State University in Indiana. He was a Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy and did two tours in Vietnam. He was in sales management with Continental Plastics, Hercules, and Airmold. Prior to retiring, he had opened his own business, a franchise of Management Recruiters Intl. Marvin was a frustrated architect so his hobbies focused on home remodeling and landscaping.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Johnson Funeral Home, Reverend Royce Williams will officiate and Marvins brother, Bob Snook, will give the eulogy. Burial will be at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro, NC at 2:00 PM on October 5, 2018.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
