Mildred Skinner Dozier

Rocky Mount - Mildred Skinner Dozier, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Heather Glen Assisted Living in Mills River, NC. Born on December 15, 1927, to the late Harry and Hattie Skinner. In additional to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Arthur R. Dozier; three sisters, Elsie Inscoe, Mary Johnson and Nanny Radford. Mildred leaves behind to cherish her memory, her 3 children, Steve Dozier (Carolyn) of Mills River, NC, Lisa Coleman (Richard) of Rocky Mount and Dail Dozier (Sharon) of Laramie, WY. She is also survived by five Grandkids and spouses as well as eleven Great Grandkids; and her sister, Jean Coley of Lynchburg, VA . Mildred was a founding member of Englewood Presbyterian Church and had attended the church until her recent move to live with her son in Mills River, NC. Mildred had worked for Carolina Telephone and Telegraph, Tarrytown Associates as an Executive Secretary and with the American Diabetes Association of Rocky Mount. Mildred enjoyed her beach trips with her best friends and over 50 years of marriage to Arthur. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with Rob Westlund of Englewood Presbyterian Church officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, June 10, 2016 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at Johnson Funeral Home Cremation Services.
