ROCKY MOUNT – Mitchell Johnson, Sr., age 60, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022. Mitchell was born in Brockton, MA on August 11, 1962. He was preceded in death by his father, Martin Johnson.Mitchell is survived by his mother, Sylvia Monk; his sons, Devon Johnson and Mitchell Johnson, Jr.; his daughters, Monica Johnson (Joshua Davis) and Kristina Johnson; his grandchildren, Michelangelo Johnson, Melanie Davis, and Gabriel Davis; his sister, Beth Garrison; and his brothers, Michael Johnson, Mark Johnson, Martin Johnson, and Max JohnsonA private memorial service will be held at a later date.Arrangements entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 661 English Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27804. When Mitch came to Mass to attend one of his brothers wedding, he stayed with Max and I for a couple months. We had so many great times and lots of laughs. And I mean lots and lots of laughs. When Max and I went down to NC for a wedding, we stopped in to see Mitch and the family and again had a great time. Max and I drove to Florida and on the way stopped in NC to see Mitch and everyone and we happen to be driving in on Valentine’s Day. Max asked Mitch and Monica if they could set up a Valentine’s set of stuffed animal and all kinds of things at our hotel for me. Mitch said they had the best time doing it. I may have only knew Mitch for a few years, but we made a lot of pretty awesome memories. I’ll miss you, Mitch!! Love ya! RIP! XOXO
