Robert Lee Griffin

Rocky Mount -Robert Lee Griffin, age 76, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018. Born in Nash County, NC on April 7, 1942, he was the son of the late Ludie Emerson Griffin and Nona Patterson Griffin. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Wilbert Emerson Griffin, sisters, Lois Ilene Ezzelle, Joyce Cathline Toler, Shirley Jean Pittman, grandsons, Andy Ray Joyner, Scotty Ray Joyner and son-in-law, Robert Stephen Joyner. Robert leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife of 55 years, Doris K. Griffin, son, Robert Wayne Griffin (Sandra), daughters, Sheila Joyner, Lisa Dickerson (Andy), and Debra Edmondson. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Robert loved fishing, rabbit hunting, spending time with his family and spending time outside. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the family cemetery, 3100 block of South Church Street.
