NASHVILLE – Robert Stanley Darkins, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. Born in England, on April 8, 1939, he was the son of the late Robert Stanley Darkins and Margerie Duncan Cole, and his stepfather, William Cole. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Paul Darkins, and Michael Cole.
Robert worked as a manager at Cummins Engine Company for 35 years, after retirement he was a well-known handy man and worked at Lowe’s for many years. Customers would come into Lowe’s always looking for him for help or advice. Robert enjoyed square dancing and traveling with his wife. He was a family man, and extremely proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. He loved nothing better than spending time with them. Robert will be deeply missed. He made a difference in the life of everyone who knew him, and he leaves behind a tremendous legacy of life, love, and laughter.
Robert is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Darkins; daughter, Amanda Ann Alderson (Mark); son, Robert Darkins (Lynnette); five grandchildren; one great grandchild; sister, Audrey Syron (Colin).
Services will be private.
