Ruby Williams East

PINETOPS - Ruby Williams East, age 93, passed away on Friday, October 9, 2020. Born in Tarboro, NC she was the daughter of the late Willie and Blanche Taylor Williams. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Bruce East; and her son, Phillip Wayne Williams. Ruby was a member of the Salvation Army for many years. She was a sewing machine operator until her retirement. Ruby enjoyed dancing, gardening and especially her exercise class at the Salvation Army where she enjoyed time with her friends. Ruby loved the holidays when all of her family were together and reminisced about the good ole days. Ruby was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all who knew her. Her family finds great comfort and peace in knowing with all certainty that she is in the Presence of her Jesus, greeting her with "Job well done good and faithful servant!" Ruby is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Ann Joyner and her husband, Eugene of Pinetops; her son, Jimmy East and his wife, Marsha of Rocky Mount; her grandchildren, Victoria Williams, Gennell Morris, Genia Jensen, Lori Bailey, Kristy Thompson, Torie East and Richard Joyner; 21 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. She also is survived by her daughter-in-law, Julia Ann Williams of Rocky Mount; many nieces and nephews and her special fur baby Tinkerbell. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Pineview Cemetery with Major David Phelps officiating.
