ROCKY MOUNT – Sandra Marshall Long, age 72, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024. Born in Washington, DC on October 30, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Robert Marshall and Mildred Brown Marshall. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Wallace Long; great grandchild, Neveah Ramos-Cruz Hodge; brother, Lawrence Marshall Sr.; nephew, Lawrence Marshall III.
Sandra enjoyed gardening, canning, fishing, and crabbing, but she was known for her country soul food cooking. She loved playing games on her computer or watching one of her favorite movies which included old classic movies, horror, Star Trek, or any Madea movie. Sandra also enjoyed a good drink and dancing from time to time. Most of all, Sandra loved her family they were her world; she will be deeply missed. Sandra made a difference in the life of everyone who knew her, and she leaves behind a tremendous legacy of life, love, and laughter.
Sandra is survived by her daughters, Yavonne Hodge (Fred) of Bowie MD, Camilla Mitchell (Andrew) of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren, Brittany Hodge, Courtney Smith (Kristen), Frederick Hodge Jr., Javonne Hodge, A’Drianah Harris, Brooklyn Harris, Christlyn Harris; great grandchild, Isabella Smith; brother, Robert Marshall Jr.; nieces, Sabrina Marshall, Lashawdna Arrington (Larry); nephew, Dominic Archie Arechiga; great nieces, Sydney Parren, Saniya Akingbade, Taylor Marshall, Asa Marshall, Lala Marshall; great nephews, Kingsley Akingbade, Tariq Arrington, Shariq Arrington, Domonte Marshall, Xavier Marshall, Lawrence Marshall, Braxton Marshall; special cousin, Bernadette Igie; cousin, Diane Marshall; close friends, Angela Carter, Adrienne Coleman, Antoinette Wooten, Mary Flood, Alicia Wiggins (Alvin).
