Sarah Hunter Cooke was born on November 3, 1926. She was one of eight children to William Exum and Nannie Bell Hunter (Faucette). She graduated from Whitakers School in Whitakers, NC. She later married George Washington Cooke at the age of 19 on July 16, 1945; of which today would have been there 71st wedding anniversary. He was the love of her life and she truly showed the world what love and marriage is really all about. She also loved and accepted the Lord at an early age and never faltered in trusting him as her Lord and Savior. She was very active in her church “Turkey Branch Baptist” until she was not able to make it there. During her lifetime she worked on her fathers farm, worked at a bank, was a substitute bus driver for Enfield Academy, did bookkeeping in Enfield with Sallie Wells and then later became a stay at home mom for her children Tony and Denise. She was an amazing woman on this earth and now heaven has been blessed with a true Angel.
She is preceded in death by her husband George Washington Cooke and son George Anthony (Tony) Cooke.
She is survived by her daughter Sarah Denise Cooke of Clayton, NC
