Rocky Mount - Timothy “Timmy” Lee Paris, age 65, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018. Born in Nash County, NC on January 16, 1953, he was the son of the late James Kermit and Doris Williams Paris. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Tony Ray Paris.
Tim leaves behind to cherish his memory, children, Melissa Brewington and husband, Barry, children Dakotah and Caleb, of Raleigh, Melody Bardowell and husband, Danny, children Nathan, Madalyn and Christopher of Elm City, Melinda Paris, children Anthony and Marley of Rocky Mount and Tim Paris and wife, Amanda and child Noah of Raleigh, and brother James Paris, of Sylvania, Georgia.
Timmy was an incredible man and musician whose influence and intelligence has left a lifelong mark. His musical knowledge knew no bounds with his love and expertise of The Beatles being second to none. His guitar mastery was well known; from his time with the Southern Taste Band up until his recent jam sessions with The Paris West band. To hear Timmy nail a Led Zeppelin song would bring chills down your spine and you could not help but want to jam out as well. Timmy not only played guitar, he was also known to play a little piano from time to time. He not only had a love for rock and roll but also classical guitar and the masters such as Andrs Segovia and Christopher Parkening.
Timmy was also a skilled and talented master carpenter. He had an incredible way of sculpting wood and making a remarkable piece of art. He remodeled many homes and installed pieces of carpentry in many houses in Rocky Mount and the surrounding area. Most importantly, he was a wonderful dad and grandpa. From playing “Golden Slumbers” on the piano for his girls to playing “Puff the Magic Dragon” on guitar for his grandkids, we will forever miss his sweet guitar sounds and “playing around in Papas shop”.
