Rocky Mount - Walter Earl Amerson, age 62, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2019. Born in Edgecombe County, NC on January 21, 1957, he was the son of the late Warren G. and Ida Gupton Amerson.
Walter leaves behind to cherish her memory, wife, Cynthia Garris Amerson, children, Walter Earl Amerson Jr. of Momeyer, Jennifer Amerson Holmes (Sam) of Rocky Mount and Patrick Louis Shepherd of Rocky Mount. He is also survived by grandchildren, Lance Holmes, Kaitlin Holmes, Brandon Holmes and Josh Holmes; brother, David Amerson of Rocky Mount, sister Frances Mink of Rocky Mount and many nieces and nephews.
Walter was a master carpenter who built many homes in the Rocky Mount area. He enjoyed watching Nascar and football games, especially his favorite team the Redskins. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother and uncle who loved his family.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 23, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service. There will be a private burial.
