Wilbur B Stokes

September 28, 1948 ~ December 18, 2018

Spring Hope - Wilbur B. Stokes, Jr., age 70, a devoted Christian man who loved his family more than life passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2018. He was the son of the late Wilbur B. Stokes, Sr. and Juanita Boseman Stokes. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert “Buck” Stokes. Wilbur leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife of 50 years, Ginny Styons Stokes, his children, Keith and wife Wendy, Kelly and wife Sharon, Kyle and wife Amy and Krissy Figlewski and husband Stash. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ashley Stokes and Jackson Figlewski. Wilbur was a member of Rocky Mount Christian Church since 1975 and a devoted elder and leader of his church family for many years. He retired from Abbott Labs after 30 years of service and was currently working at Home Depot in Knightdale. Wilbur loved his dog (Dixie), his diet Sun Drop, watching the same westerns over and over again, visiting the mountains of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 21, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the family cemetery in Spring Hope.
