CLAXTON, G.A. – Albert Lee Bowen, age 87, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025. Born in Nash County, NC on April 17, 1937, he was the son of the late Rudolph Albert Bowen and Emma Belle Taylor Bowen. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Clara Crumpler Bowen; his son, Darrell A. Bowen; his sister Judy Williams; and brothers-in-law, Herbert Williams and Tom Arnold.
Albert proudly served his Country in the United States Air Force, retiring after 20 years of service. After retirement, he found joy and solace in the art of crafting wooden duck decoys. His skilled hands and patient spirit transformed blocks of wood into works of art, each piece reflecting fine detailed art of ducks. His decoys became well known up and down the east coast. Albert was a simple man, finding happiness in the small things life offered. He cherished time spent with loved ones and enjoyed the tranquility of nature. He had a kind heart, and a gentle spirit, and will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Albert is survived by his son, Jeffrey Bowen, and wife Sonya, of Claxton, Georgia; his grandchildren, Renee Arrizola, and wife Jessica, Xavier Arrizola, and wife Katie, Brandon Bowen, Kathryne Alayne Hastings, and Brodie L. Bowen; five great-grandchildren; his sisters, Linda Arnold, Jan Shearin, and husband Charlie, and Debbie Brewer, and husband Kenneth; his brother, Arthur Bowen, and wife Donna; and his daughter-in-law, Rebecca Bowen.
