ROCKY MOUNT – Ann E. Battle, age 100, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025. Born in Rocky Mount, NC on August 6, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Elmo Elsworth Battle, and Myrtie Lee Hinton Battle. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Nell B. Peel; brothers, Larry W. Battle, and Ed Battle, Jr..

Ann’s faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a devoted charter member of Lakeside Baptist Church, where she found fellowship and strength. Her commitment to service extended beyond her church family, as she was also a dedicated member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), honoring her heritage and contributing to the preservation of American history. Additionally, her involvement in the Rocky Mount Pilot Club demonstrated her dedication to improving the lives of others in her community. Ann’s creative soul found expression in the delicate art of ceramic pottery and oil and pastel painting. Her artistic endeavors brought beauty and joy to those around her, and her creations will serve as lasting reminders of her talent and passion. Ann will be truly missed by those that knew and loved her.

Ann is survived by her brother, Robert L. Battle; sister Cornelia B. Winstead, and sixteen nieces and nephews.

Service will be private.
