ROCKY MOUNT – Barbara Frazier, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.  Born in Mecklenburg County, NC on June 20, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Troy Sattie Bedgood and Florence Ellen Womble Bedgood. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dan Frazier.

Barbara was a woman who displayed great faith. She had a strong work ethic, working as a bank teller at First South Bank until she was 80 years old. When she was not working, she enjoyed being outdoors working in her yard while watching the birds and squirrels. Barbara had a special place in her heart for all animals. But most of all she always had encouraging words and demonstrated steadfast love for her family and would do anything for them. Barbara touched the lives of so many people and will always be remembered with love and kindness.

Barbara is survived by her children, Danny, Gary, Denise, Leigh; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 661 English Road Rocky Mount, NC 27804.

  3. Mrs. Frazier was one of my favorite neighborhood moms. I remember her spunk and gentle sweet nature. Our condolences to Danny and the rest of her family.
