Betty Jean Brock Joyner

Rocky Mount - Betty Jean Joyner, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018. Born in Duplin County, NC on December 10, 1936, she was the daughter of the late William Robert and Glennie Carter Brock. She was also preceded in death by her children, William R. Joyner Jr., Naomi Lynn Joyner, sisters, Edna Stone, Doris Arrington, brothers, Willard Brock, Jt. Brock and grandson Darry Allen Winstead Jr. Betty leaves behind to cherish her memory, husband William R. Joyner Sr., daughter, Donna Winstead and husband Ross. She is also survived by four grandchildren, April Henson and husband Steve, Heather Winstead, Daniel Winstead and Jessica Baker, six great grandchildren, Pamela Etling, Naomi Henson, Eric Henson, John Luke Henson, Jacob Winstead and Raygan Johnson. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and Aunt. She loved her family and enjoyed cooking, sewing and taking care of others. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Home from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will follow the visitation starting at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Mary Todd officiating. There will be a private burial.
