Blanche Quigley Wallace

ROCKY MOUNT - Blanche Quigley Wallace, age 97, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022. Born in Edgecombe County, NC on July 22, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Ben Cutchin and Lillian Zola Manning Cutchin Brown. She was also preceded in death by her first husband of 49 years, Samuel James Quigley, Sr., her second husband of 10 years, Ralph W. Wallace; and her brothers, Benjamin Brown and Robert "Bobby" Brown. Blanche was a person that loved life. After graduating Leggett High School, she became a career woman. The majority of her career was with Carolina Telephone until her retirement with over 30 years of service. Blanche was a member of First Christian Church and a treasurer for the Women's group. Blanche was always on the go traveling and shopping whenever she got the chance. She loved visiting the mountains and the beach. Blanche loved to garden, knit, and crochet. Above all, her most cherished memories will be those spent with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her, but her loving spirit will never be forgotten. Blanche is survived by her son, Samuel J. Quigley, Jr. and wife, Carolyn, of Rocky Mount; her grandchildren, Jay Quigley and wife, Amy, and Kelly Smith and husband, Dewayne; her great-grandchildren, Landon Quigley and fianc, Emily Cross, Nathan Quigley and fianc, Brittany Wright, Jackson Smith and wife, Lauren, Caroline Johnson and husband, Tyler, and Abby Smith; her great-great-granddaughter, Brinley Layne Smith; her brother, Alton Brown of Tarboro, and her friend, Cherie Hogue, of Minnesott Beach. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Englewood United Methodist Church, 300 S. Circle Drive, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 with Rev. Terry Williams and Rev. Dr. Billy Seate officiating. A visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service in the Sanctuary of Englewood United Methodist Church.
