Bobby Ray Carpenter

Rocky Mount - Bobby Ray Carpenter, age 72, passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018. Born in Nash County, NC on December 3, 1945, he was the son of the late Clifton Carpenter and Cassie Wilkins Carpenter. Bobby leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife, Katherine Carpenter, son, Shawn Carpenter (Michelle), daughters, Elizabeth Arnold (Rob) and Elaine Henry (Kevin). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Kristina Hinton, Amber Carpenter, Sean Henry, Scott Henry, Holly Arnold, Madison Arnold, Laura Damron and three great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Tippett, Rylan Peters and Karleigh Damron. He is also survived by numerous cousins and his two beloved fur babies, Molly and Chloe. Bobby loved his country and service in the Marine Corp. He served in Vietnam where he was wounded and received the Purple Heart. Bobby also loved collecting model trains, Nascar racing and loved the 69 Camaro. Bobby love to tinker on things and could fix anything. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Disabled Veterans of America.
