Bonnie Marie Bradley Whitley

ROCKY MOUNT – Bonnie Bradley Butler Whitley, 82, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025. She was born on May 5, 1942. She is preceded in death, by her first and second husbands Frank Butler and Clyde Whitley.

Bonnie was a devoted mother to her two daughters, Pamela Butler and Carolyn Curry, who were the light of her life, and, she was a proud grandmother to four grandchildren and their spouses: Brad & Megan Butler, Brian & Stacy Bridgers, Ariel Bridgers, and Bridgette & Dwayne Feagans.

She was also a cherished great-grandmother to eight great-grandchildren: Nichole (and Husband Jon Adams), Olivia, Ashlynn, Skylynn, Benjamin, Chloe, Macie, and Mason. Her love for her family was always at the forefront of her life.  She also treasured her relationship with Dennis Keen and Kirby Whitley who were like sons to her. Also left to cherish her memories is her brother, Ron Bradley.

Before dementia, Bonnie had a passion for the simple and beautiful moments in life. She loved walking along the shore, collecting seashells, walking at the mall, and staying active at the gym. She had a sharp wit that brought smiles and laughter to those around her, making every moment with her one to remember and treasure.  In the latter years of her life, Bonnie found her greatest joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing her. While her presence will be greatly missed, her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 8, 2025, in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 661 English Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27804. A visitation with the family will be held prior to the service from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM. The burial will take place following the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park, 4454 Dortches Blvd, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
