Carol Lee Overcash

NASHVILLE – Carol Lee Overcash, age 83, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025.  Born in Washington, DC on October 19, 1941, she was the daughter of the late William Herman Overcash and Nannette Daniels Kelley. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Lois Joan Tripplett, Judy Kay Hester, and Elizabeth Diane Dodson; brother, William Charles Kelley; and nephew, Daniel Keith Hawes Dodson (Peanuts).

Carol enjoyed playing bingo. She would go to bingo night anytime she could. It didn’t matter if she won or lost, she enjoyed being there and having fun. But she would tell you winning was the best. Carols favorite TV shows were Dallas on CBS network in the late 70’s and 80’s and In the Heat of the Night on Bounce Network. Carol always had an encouraging word and demonstrated steadfast love. Carol made a difference in the life of everyone who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed.

Carol is survived by her nephews, Charles Morgan, and Jamie Dodson, several other nieces and nephews; brother-in-law Kenneth Dodson (Pops).

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 2:30 PM in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum at Rocky Mount Memorial Park, 4454 Dortches Blvd. Rocky Mount, NC 27804 with Kim Taylor officiating. A visitation will be from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM prior to the service in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Carol’s memory to American Lung Association 55 W. Wacker Drive Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601.
