Charlotte Carlyle Lewis Lee

ROCKY MOUNT - Charlotte Carlyle Lewis Lee, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Newport News, VA on November 7, 1944, she was the daughter of the late James Nicholas and Ruth Herrington Lewis, Sr. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Colby Wayne Lee, Sr.; and step-mother, Rena Lewis. Charlotte was a long-time member of Proctors Chapel Baptist Church. She worked many years as a teacher at First Baptist Day Care, where she nurtured and cared for many children. She also touched the lives of many children while working as a Teacher's Assistant with Nash County Public Schools. She loved watching the children learn and grow. Her greatest moments were spent with the love of her life, her children, and grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. Charlotte is survived by her sons, Colby Wayne Lee, Jr. and wife, Sharon, and Michael Braxton Lee; her daughters, Elizabeth Lee Viverette and husband, Chris, and Leanne Lee Crusenberry and husband, Ben; her eight grandchildren, Braxton Lee, Abby Lee, Colby Lee, Joshua Lee, Carson Viverette, Riley Crusenberry, Paisley Viverette and Reed Crusenberry. She also leaves to cherish her memory her sisters, Linda Bradley and Phyllis Isemann and husband, Frank; her brothers, Jim Lewis and wife, Marla and Gary Lewis and wife, Colleen; and many nieces and nephews. A visitation with the family will be held from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, May 14, 2021 at Proctors Chapel Baptist Church. The family would like to say a special thanks to her loving care giver of three years, Linda Hendricks and Carrie Smith with Wilson Community Home Care & Hospice.
