Chris Taylor

MACCLESFIELD – Margaret Christine Bowles Taylor, affectionately known as Chris, age 70, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2026. Born in Tazewell, VA on October 20, 1955, she was the daughter of the late David Hubert Bowles and Margaret Brown Bowles. She was also preceded in death by her two daughters, Rachel Amanda Taylor, and Jamie Michelle Taylor.

Chris was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend whose greatest joy was her family. She had a creative spirit and found happiness in arts and crafts, cooking, and making special memories with those she loved.

Chris especially cherished her children and grandchildren. She was deeply devoted to her grandchildren and rarely missed an opportunity to support them. She proudly attended their sporting events, always cheering from the sidelines and celebrating their accomplishments. Her love and encouragement meant so much to them and will remain a treasured part of their lives.

A longtime and faithful member of West Edgecombe Baptist Church, Chris’s faith was an important part of who she was. She valued her church family and the fellowship she shared with them.

Chris will be remembered for her kind heart, creativity, love of family, and unwavering support of her grandchildren. Her love, laughter, and cherished memories will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Chris is survived by her husband of 41 years, John Andrew Taylor; sons, Jason Taylor (Allison); Jeremy Taylor (Lisa); grandchildren, Emma Whitley (Connor), Chase Taylor, Andrew Taylor, Ella Taylor, and her fur Baby, “Puddin”.

Services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in ‘Chris’ memory to West Edgecombe Baptist Church, 13821 NC Hwy 43 Rocky Mount, NC 27801.
