ROCKY MOUNT – Christine Wells Daughtridge, age 95, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025. Born in Pitt County, NC on September 8, 1929, she was the daughter of the late David Wells and Molly Davenport Wells. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Jasper Daughtridge; and her son Marvin Earl Daughtridge.

Christine passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. A devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and faithful servant of God. Christine lived a life full of grace, strength, and unwavering love. Christine was a devout Christian whose faith was the cornerstone of her life. Her gentle spirit, kind heart, and quiet strength left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Christine dedicated her life to caring for her family and walking in faith.  She was the heart of her home, a true matriarch, and her legacy of love and faith will continue to inspire generations.

Christine is survived by her children, Allan Daughtridge, Doris Wadsworth, June Lee (Ronnie), Bruce Daughtridge (Marina); grandchildren, Chris Cockrell, Shawn Adams, Jason Daughtridge, Michael Daughtridge, Keith Coley (Heidi), Kevin Coley, Eve Nemitz (Ryan), Tim Horst (Maranda), Amanda Cruz (Josh), Karena Velasco (Benex), Celena Gaston (Cory), Emma Daughtridge, and Josie Daughtridge; she was blessed with 27 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 661 English Road Rocky Mount, NC 27804 with Pastor John Scott and brother Ronnie Lee officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. A visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 10:45AM prior to the service in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Flowers are welcome or donations can be made in Christine’s name to Gideon International P.O. Box 7214 Rocky Mount, NC 27804.

    I know I read every book there. She also caught me drinking out of her fishtank when I was younger. She was a wonderful person. Rest in peace 🕊️
