TARBORO β Connie Watson, age 58, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024. Born in Edgecombe County, NC on August 24, 1965, she was the daughter of the late Fred Joseph Phillips and Mary Britt Phillips. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Fred Phillips Jr.; aunt, Eleanor "Dinah" Phillips-Webber; uncle Bobby Jean Phillips; nephew, Brandon Claiborne, and her cousin Jeff Webber.
Connie was a caring person with a big heart. She loved going for long walks and she had a special place in her heart for animals. Connie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her, but her loving spirit will never be forgotten as she was everything to her family.
Connie is survived by her husband of 25 years, Wayland Ashley Watson; daughters, Adrienne Marie Phillips of Whitakers, Jennifer Thorpe of Tarboro; granddaughter, Katlin Davis; sisters, Angela Wachowicz (John) of Nashville, Cathy Bell (Jeff) of Tarboro; aunts, Marie Brown, Barbara Britt, Peggy Braswell (Jimmy), Sherry Gibson (Pete); nieces, Tiffany Hardison, Lilee Claiborne; nephews, Jacob Wachowicz, Dawson Claiborne, Kody Scott, Aaron Warren; cousin, Joe Britt (Janie), Bridgette Phillips, Renee Clark, Sandra Pridgen, and Carl Webber.
A celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Tarboro Church of God, 412 Shirley Street Tarboro, NC.

Ms Connie was a very good friend and she was a good hearted loving kind caring person who loves everyone I’m surely going to miss her dear and her daughter and her husband I’m sorry for your loss just remember all of the good time with her she will be dearly miss and love RIP Ms Connie

I canβt believe this, when I got word my heart stopped and I was just in disbelief, I have known Connie my whole life, she was like my other mom, I remember spending the night with Jennifer and Adrienne often and it just always felt like home. Mom you will be truly missed and I love you π’π rest easy and fly high beautiful
