David Sinclair Moore Jr.

ROCKY MOUNT – David Sinclair Moore, Jr., age 63, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026. Born in Washington, DC on January 16, 1963, he was the son of the late David Sinclair Moore and Laura Lee Moore. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Edward Moore.

David, a beloved father and friend, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love and joy. A faithful member of Hickory View Missionary Baptist Church in Rocky Mount, David served diligently as an usher, always greeting others with warmth and kindness, helping to make the house of the Lord a welcoming place for all.

David had a deep love for life’s simple pleasures. He found great joy in dancing, never missing an opportunity to move to the music and bring smiles to those around him. Yardwork was more than a hobby—it was his passion. He took pride in keeping his surroundings neat and beautiful, a reflection of his hardworking spirit.

He also had a well-known sweet tooth, especially for his favorite treat—Oatmeal Cream Pies—which he enjoyed with childlike delight.

Above all, David loved his family. They were the center of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them. His love, laughter, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Though he has departed this earthly life, the memories he leaves behind will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched.

David is survived by his daughter, Vittalynn Bradley; sister, Saretta Moore Flemming; brothers, Frankie Moore, and Toby Moore; one niece; two nephews; one great niece; a special cousin Gloria Jean James, a special friend Robyn Waggoner; and a host of family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 12:00 PM, at Hickory View Missionary Baptist Church, 3911 Bulluck School Road Rocky Mount, NC.
