Delores Joyner Newcomb

June 30, 1932 ~ January 7, 2024

ROCKY MOUNT – Delores Marie Joyner Newcomb, age 91, of Rocky Mount, NC Author of “Poetry from the Hand and Heart”, and a long-time employee of Rocky Mount Instruments went to be with the Lord on January 7, 2024. Preceding her in death were her parents George and Ila Mae Joyner, sister Loretta Winstead, and brother Marshall Joyner. Left to cherish her memory are her sister and caretaker of the home Dorothy (Dot) Joyner; her three sons, Ashley Newcomb and wife Maria of Battleboro, NC, Michael Newcomb and wife Phyllis of Hubert, NC, and Andy Newcomb and wife Kim of Whitakers, NC; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; many friends; and her church family at Avalon Baptist Church in Rocky Mount, NC. A Funeral Service will be held at Rocky Mount Memorial Park at 4454 Dortches Blvd. Rocky Mount, NC in the Chapel on the Hill Mausoleum Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at 2 PM with Pastor Chris Hall officiating. Visitation with the family will follow the service. The family would like to say a special thanks to Liberty Hospice Service of Wendell/Raleigh for their awesome care given to Delores by Di ’ana, Melissa, Deneene, Joycelyn, and social worker Margit.   1. I was married to her brother for a time and I have never seen or heard her speak bad of anyone And all thru the years since. She has always been the sweetest and most kind hearted person I have known. i know she has had her moments and days but you would never know it. Andy–Mike–and Ashley,You were truly blessed .
