Donald Gene Campbell

ZEBULON - Donald Gene Campbell, age 81, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2020. Born in Harnett County, NC on May 22, 1939, he was the son of the late John Archibald Campbell and Evelyn Cameron Campbell Payne. During his life, Donald completed High School. He enjoyed his work at St. John's Hospital, and Perry Airplane parts, which is located in Franklinton, NC. He retired from Lockheed Martin. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Lillie Mae Payne Campbell, and Lucille Payne; brothers, John Payne, and Edison Campbell Payne, a son through marriage, Daryl Board and his second ex-wife, Nugie Board Campbell. Donald is survived by his daughters, Gail T. Prince Campbell of Brooklyn, NY, Brenda Arab Payne of New Jersey; daughters by marriage, Donna Williams Bell of Virginia, Kendra Phillips Griffin of New York, and Leah Campbell of North Carolina; sons through marriage, Tyrone Board Campbell of Virginia and Elvis Fullerton of North Carolina; brothers, Robert Payne of Arizona, Walter Payne of Maryland, and Hughey Payne of Maryland; his first ex-wife, Estelle Payne Strickland; his third ex-wife, Shirley Fullerton Campbell; also, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1717 Lane Street SE, Wilson, NC with Rev. Carlton Cockrell officiating. A visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2020 from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
