ROCKY MOUNT – Donald Mullinax, age 68, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2026. Born in Cherokee County, SC on January 14, 1958, he was the son of the late Everett Mullinax, Jr. and Lillie May Osment Mullinax. He was also preceded in death by his brother Junior Mullinax.
Donald was a hardworking man who loved cars and spent many years working as a mechanic at M&W and Cox Auto Salvage. In his free time, Donald enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR, and cheering for his favorite drivers, Dale Earnhardt and Richard Petty. He loved classic television shows, especially Gunsmoke and The Big Valley. He also enjoyed camping, with White Lake being one of his favorite places to visit.
Donald will be remembered for his friendly nature, strong work ethic, and love for his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Donald is survived by his life partner, Bettie Hayes; daughter, Gina Mullinax; sons, Jason Mullinax, and Dustin Mullinax; stepson, Robert Brandon Hayes; three grandchildren; sister, Teresa Stanford (Jack); brother, Mickey Mullinax (Tammy).
Services will be private.

Daddy I just want u to know the one memory I always carried with me since I was little was when I say about 2 or 3 yrs old we would always put me in ur lap and u would play the guitar to me every nite before I went to bed u always played a different song but tht memory always stuck with me bc I was so happy to have a dad like u u was and still are my one and only hero u are the bestest dad a girl like me could have asked for u worked hard to make sure we were okay and I want to thank u for tht as well u may have been hard on me and my brothers but u did tht bc u loved us and didn’t want us to make the same mistakes u did growing up u did the best u could and so thankful and greatful to have had a dad like u I’m going toiss u from the bottom of my heart and soul and want u to know u are going to be missed so deeply by me and so many more I so thankful u taught me how to work on cars like u did bc like u always told me no daughter of mine is going to need another man fixing her car when I can do it just has gud or even better then they can and u did tht and thank u for tht I love u daddy and I want u to know even though ur in heaven tht I’m always going to be DADDY’S LITTLE GIRL until we meet again I love u more then u will ever know
